Kīlauea's summit eruption began on December 23, 2024, and has continued in episodes: bursts of lava fountaining in Halemaʻumaʻu, followed by quiet while the summit refills. From Kaʻū, the glow sits on the horizon.
This series honors the eruption one episode at a time. Each relief is titled with its episode number and date, made by hand, and registered with its own certificate. The numbered wall below fills in as the work is made; collected pieces stay on the wall.

Beauty is always here, waiting for us to step inside it — in new growth and in what the fire leaves behind, in every state our world passes through.
The numbered wall
Every episode gets a square. Photos appear as reliefs are finished; gray squares are still to come.
