From the lava fields to your wall, safely

Every piece is packed by hand in Kaʻū, shipped with UPS, and insured for its full value. If anything arrives damaged, we make it right.

Shipping with UPS

  • Where we ship: all Hawaiian islands and the continental United States. Alaska, international orders and large trade projects are quoted individually.
  • How it travels: UPS, with tracking on every package. Your tracking number is emailed when your piece leaves the studio.
  • When it leaves: most pieces ship within 5 business days. Commissions and trade projects ship on the schedule in your proposal.
  • Signature: higher-value pieces need an adult signature on delivery, so they never sit on a doorstep.
  • Cost: shipping and insurance are shown at checkout or quoted before you pay.

How we pack

Each piece is wrapped, then boxed inside a second box with at least two inches of cushioning on every side. Collector pieces and koa mounts travel in fitted inserts. Trade and installation work ships in custom crates, with layout drawings for your installer.

Every piece is insured

Every shipment is insured for the full purchase price of the work. You never pay extra for that protection, and you never have to file a claim yourself: if something goes wrong in transit, we handle it.

If a piece arrives damaged

  1. Keep the box and all the packing materials. The carrier may need to see them.
  2. Within 3 days of delivery, email photos of the piece, the inner box and the outer box to rhett@rhettparham.com.
  3. We'll offer a replacement, a similar piece, or a full refund, your choice, and take care of the insurance claim.

One-of-a-kind pieces can't be remade exactly; the fire decides every surface. We'll show you the closest available work or refund you in full.

Caring for your art

  • Display: hang reliefs on a secure hook or picture rail rated for their weight, or set them on a sturdy stand, away from edges where they could be knocked.
  • Dust: a soft, dry cloth or brush. No sprays or harsh cleaners.
  • Outdoors and wet areas: only work made for it, like installed tile with its own care sheet.
  • Glaze character: color shifts, speckles and glaze breaking over edges come from the gas kiln. They are part of the piece, not flaws.
  • Moving or reselling: keep your certificate of authenticity with the piece. Its registry number is on the back beside the RWP mark.
