Kīlauea has erupted in 55 fountaining episodes since December 2024. For each one, Rhett made a single pair of earrings by hand, numbered 1/55 to 55/55. They share a fire. No two are alike.

Made by hand
Each pair, one of a kind
Every pair is hand-built from clay in the Kaʻū studio, on the southern flank of Mauna Loa, and fired in the gas kiln, where the flame decides the final color. Almost all of the glazes are mixed by hand in the studio, from materials sourced as locally as possible.
The ceramic is set on .925 sterling silver mounts, made by hand. The fifty-five pairs share the eruption as their theme, but each was made on its own, so no two are alike.
Beauty is always here, waiting for us to step inside it.
Silver now, gold to follow
The First Series is silver
This first series of fifty-five is set in sterling silver. A Gold Series will follow. Collectors of the First Series and everyone on the waiting list will hear about it first.
The fine print
- One price. The price includes the earrings, the presentation box, fully insured shipping and estimated Hawaiʻi General Excise Tax. It does not change at checkout.
- Where it ships. The price covers standard insured delivery to a street address in Hawaiʻi or the continental United States.
- Exceptional shipping. Delivery that needs a special format (outside the United States, freight, rush or special-handling services, or carriers beyond standard insured delivery) may cost more. We’ll always tell you the amount and ask before charging anything extra.
- Deposits. A deposit holds your place in line and counts toward the price. If none of the pairs is right for you, it’s refunded in full.
- One of a kind. Each pair is handmade and fired in a gas kiln. Color, glaze movement and small marks of the hand are part of the work, not flaws.
